Body Painting Maternity Shoot
Recently, I was invited by Deisy to photograph her maternity photos (seems to be doing unexpectedly a lot of). However, this wasn't the typical set up. Deisy had this awesome idea to paint her pregnant belly with a pumpkin. Initially, I was taken aback by such an idea. I mean, I never expected to have had such a unique project. Still, I was looking forward to see the results and lo and behold, the artist responsible of painting her belly was Rebekah Faith. She is the owner of Joyful Canvas LLC, who provides a service that specializes body and face painting. I happened to work with her before and featured her on my blog here. So of course I had to ask Deisy if I can photograph Rebekah's prenatal belly art.
Rebekah applies general make up to make her camera-friendly.
Deisy adds the finishing touches with an eyelash curler.
The first stroke begins the contour of the pumpkin.
General shapes of the overall concept are painted first.
As the concept finally begins to take detail, Aaron is intrigued.
Aaron critiques with gibberish while the artist is focused.

Matt has to take care of the dog while everyone is busy.

I would touch it too because it's that awesome.
After all was done, we quickly headed out to the Lancaster County Park because time was running a little short.

It was a bit of a struggle to get Aaron to let go of his model-fierce attitude, but Daddy got him to loosened up.

Had them sit on the good ol' log.
Then I had them sit in the leaves and they share a kiss.
We managed to get some photos with the limited time and they came out great. Despite the temps and trekking we did, Deisy did a great job remaining content. I wish this beautiful family the best and it was an awesome time photographing them.
