Face Painting by Rebekah Faith

Well First Friday just passed and I had the chance to meet an awesome local artist.  While her name is quite unique in spelling, it's her talent that separates and makes her different than the rest.  Her name is Rebekah, and she runs her own business called, "Joyful Canvas".  She's a painter, but her canvas is actually the human body.  So on First Friday, Rebekah has set up a lovely stand where she offers face painting and Henna tattoos.  I was invited to photograph Rebekah's painting process and the living, breathing, and talking pieces of her beautiful art.

Rebekah starts off with painting the face to begin creating a mime.

I wasn't sure if Marisol's nose tickled

Adding the details to complete the look

Of course it should be a joyful time when faces get painted

Water-activated cometic paint/makeup and various brushes/pads to apply the paint.

Voilà! The complete mime look.

To complement the dress, Rebekah added a painted sleeve.

Located in the back of the Annex 24 art gallery, all her models watched the last piece of body work done.

Leslie presenting the Poison Ivy concept and taking a selfie of course

Stella as Elsa, the snow Queen from Disney's Frozen

Kennedy is lovely with her peacock body paint. A really gorgeous piece!

Samantha and the popular sugar skull concept.

Prices are very reasonable

People with their faces painted and others who are waiting or intrigued.

Rebekah still continued to paint faces throughout the evening, despite the limited light from the sun setting

Henna tattoos are her specialty as well

Rebekah is quite a talented artist!  She welcomes all kinds of assignments, ranging from birthday parties, reunions, to local celebrations.  Her mission is in the name of her business, she wishes to make, "...every customer, a Joyful Canvas".  It was a pleasant experience photographing what she's all about.
